I'm curious too. The front windows on my 97 R are slow moving..almost as if the battery is about ready to die at idle. When the car is moving they run a little better.

Check the window molding on the window. I had the same problem with my 96 850GLT
and upon fixing the window molding it cured the slow movement.

I applied a little white lithium grease inside both tracks where the window edges ride. Made quite a difference. Also, the regulator can develop some up/down "slop" with wear so the window doesn't sit quite square in the opening and binds. If you have wind noise also, this may be the problem

I'm having exactly the same problem with my '95 at the present time !!

I'll try to apply some lithium grease inside the tracks, but do I have to remove the door panel?

What is the regulators "up/down slop" ? Thx

Door panel removal isn't necessary to lube the tracks. You can get WL grease in a spray can with that little "straw" that allows application into the track w/o getting it all over creation as it's a slimey mess. To check the regulator for excessive play (slop), you about have to remove the door panel. With it off, put the window about half way down. Grab it at the bottom by each corner and see if it will rock up and down. A little bit of play is normal which indicates your problem is something else but it'll be pretty obvious if it is excessive and the window typically will be "down" towards the front at rest. It was so bad on my 740 ( I had well over an inch of play) that the window just barely went up. Had to come up with a real Rube Goldberg to solve it.

Sorry about my ignorance but what is "WL" grease?

Thx for the reply.
