I want to check the computer's odometer..... 850 1995

Recently I drove my 850 almost completely across the country (from utah to new york). I know the trip was suppose to be around 2800 miles, but my odometer says I've gone 4000 miles. I've heard the computer also keeps track of how many miles have been driven, can I get to them with an ODB-II tool? I was thinking of getting the equus, will that be able to read the milage?

You can check the ECU vs the odometer using the tip at this link...

Also check with "Just A Thoughts" response concerning the miles vs kilometers.

Your odometer may be reading in kilometers (1 mile = 1.6 kilometers, so 2800 miles = 4506 kilometers).

I had this happen when I bought my 1995 850 T. I had the shop change the setting back to miles and it never happened again. Also, the setting affected both odometers - the one under the speedometer and the one in the trip computer.

Just a thought...
