1996 850T O2 sensor replacement 850 1996

My check engine light came on today and I went to Auto Zone and had the code read--- P0133 O2 sensor circuit slow response. I need to replace my front sensor and have some questions about which part I will need.

I looked at Bay 13 and it shows something about the "new" sensors have a second harness. This is confusing me as my part is simple-- one sensor with a single connector with 4 wires in between. Do I need one of the new sensors or does the standard part --Bosch 15097 cover my vehicle. They have these in stock at the local AutoZone.
Do I need to go to the dealer?? Any tips on replacement will also be appreciated.

Thank You in advance,

Matthew Brown

A "direct fit" sensor will have the four wire wiring harness with connector attached. A "universal fit" sensor will have just four wires that you need to splice to the existing wire with a splice kit. Make sure you get the correct one by comparing the #. SOme vendors have the wrong number sensor listed for the 850. This caused me a lot of grief (and $$) DOn't drop it during installation or get any of the antiseize paste on the tip as this will ruin it. Is a straight forward job unless the old sensor is seized in the pipe. If so, soak it with a lot of PB Blaster and it should come out. Good luck
