RPM not falling between gear changes, manual tranny 850 1996

Hi. I have a 1996 850 t5 manual tranny.

When I change gear, the engine rpm stil the same and even goes up a little, and i verified, it's not me pressing the gas pedal.

I look like someone who is learning to drive and it is a little embarrassing.

What can be responsible for that problem? I already lubricated my accelerator wire and cleaned the throttle body.

any thoughts?

thank you.

Had a similar problem on my 1999 S70. I am not sure if the 1996 has this, but the 1999 had a clutch sensor which sent a signal to the computer telling it the clutch was depressed. The sensor was about $60 bucks and was a snap to replace. Since then (70,000 miles ago) no problems.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction.

Regards,

J-

thanks for your reply.
I will try to find where this sensor is and will keep you informed.

I heard that the turbo 854 wasn't offered with the manual tranny in America. Can someone say me if this is true?

have a nice day
