94 850 turbo wagon auto 101,000 miles 850 1994

Hi, I have an 94 850 turbo with 101000 miles here is the problem it has been at 3 shops over $1800.00 has been spent on it

The car will not idle it drops off and dies. when warm it will idle at a little lower rpm but, in gear it will die out. once warmed up it will idle by itself but will stumble.
The motor seems to be running rich, smell and smoke.

Here is what has been done by the 3 shops

Cleaned throttle body
Cleaned the EGR valve (removed)
Cleaned the Idle sensor (removed)
Sealed the Vacuum Leak in Vacuum tower (removed and siliconed)
Replaced the Vacuum hoses
New MAP sensor
New Thermostat
New Thermostat Sensor
New Fuel filter
New hose clamps
New plug wires
New cap
New rotor
New spark plugs
New gasket throttle body
Cleaned all connections (electric)
Dielectric grease on all connectors
Even though there is a new map sensor (bosch) the onboard computer still gives the 121 fault.

Ant help would be greatly appreciated as I am at my end.

Thanks

Bryan

Is your fuel pressure out of regulation?

If you are still getting 121 from A2, I would believe the computer and focus on the MAF. When the motor is hot, disconnect it and see if the idle changes; ditto with the vacuum hose at the same location. The vacuum tower had a leak? Most unusual, are you sure the leak has been fixed and the silicone sealant is not blocking something else?

Hi, The map sensor was replaced with a brand new bosch one.
The vacuum lines were replaced and the vacuum tower was resealed
The mechanic said there is no way the bosch map sensor he used could be bad.
I dont know this is all new to me.
I will try to check for a vacuum leak (any easy way or a better way to do this?)
I will warm the car up and disconnect the map sensor and see if it changes rpm (should it go up or down in rpm?).
I will also do the vacuum line there.

Thanks for all your help I really appreciate it!

Bryan

Have the grounds been checked to make sure they are all connected and in good shape?

You've brought it to 3 different Volvo shops?
