Bent rod on #3 cylinder S70 1998

I recently bought a 1998 S70 T5 manual trans. that had a bent rod on the #3 cylinder due to filling with fuel or oil ( not sure ). Has anyone else heard of this problem and if so, what is the cause and proper fix to ensure it will not happen again. The car also runs rough for a few seconds when it has been started after not running for a few days... Any information would be much appreciated!

Please contact me at Adam@digitalvelocity.com if you have heard of or are familiar with this problem

It probably has a blown head gasket which is allowing coolant into the cylinder when the engine is off. Then when the car is restarted, the #3 piston is trying to compress coolant, which we all know is uhhh, not compressable. Thus the bent rod. I'd replace the rod, piston, and rod bearing as well as the head gasket, resurfacing the head, or course. Replace the t-belt and tensioner while you're in there and you should be all set. Good Luck.

Bent rods are a ........ S70 1998

very very bad thing! How many miles on this bad boy? I would probably swap in another engine from a crash victim transplant and call it a day!! Your present engine doesn't bend a rod for nothing!!!!
