I just replaced the seatbelt in my 95. According to Volvo, the warranty is 5 years. The unit is simple to replace. Just make sure you disconnect the battery and do not reattach until you have all the wires reconnected. The unit costs about $280 at the dealer and I couldn't find it anywhere else. It is a simple replacement. There are two bolts, 14MM I believe, and a torx screw. Depending on whether or not you have power seats, you'll need to remove the cover on the side of the seat. Lift up on the front of the control unit and once it gives, slide it backwards. Remove the 12MM bolt holding the belt. You should replace the bolt. It needs to be replaced at 14lb-ft of torque. The bolts holding the unit need to be torqued to 35 lb-ft. It took me about 20 minutes to complete the whole procedure.

I show my cat and i replaced both driver and passenger side seat belts a couple of years ago. No actual replacement can be purchased from volvo themselves so you have to replace the whole lot. That includes the pyrotechnic, new belt and buckle.You will also require one of those yellow washes for the bolt for the bottom where it meets the seat anchorage.

Replacement involes disconnecting battery of course, removing the bolt on the seat and the B piller grey trim and remove the bolts holding the whole unit.

I paid about $180 to $200 per belt unit in your money.

STOP!!!! There is an explosive device to retract the belt incase of an accident. Put it all back together and get to a dealer before you get hurt. Ask about the guarantee at the dealer, safety belts have an extended warrantee.
