cruise control, trunk struts 850 1994

Greetings,

My cruise control is acting up again. A few years ago I had the speed sensor replaced and all was well. Now it will accelerate when pressing the switch, but does not hold the speed. I'm thinking vacuum leak. Where are the vacuum lines for this located, or is it something else?

Also, I'm looking for a good aftermarket set of trunk struts as mine are not working. The car has the factory spoiler which requires heavy duty units.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Geoff

Last fall I repaired my vacuum line to the cruise control that is located under the battery tray. This is reported to be a common failure on these cars. I think that the plastic hose hardens and cracks possibly from the battery overflow. ('95 850 GLT)

Also, I ordered two trunk struts from FPC Groton and was disappointed that they both bent within 2 months. I wound up getting two new struts from a local foreign car parts store. The ones I ordered from FPC Groton were about $18 each (no spoiler). The ones I ordered locally were made in Germany and were $46 each but seems to be holding up without any problem. (I have ordered many parts from FPC Groton without problems, but these trunk struts were a big disappointment.)

Geoff,
Check the switch above the brake pedal. It may be worn and you will need to bend down the bracket so that the switch is engaged. The vacuum elbows are under the battery tray.

FCPGroton has trunk struts. So does IPD and a lot of others.
