ETM Defect S80

Greetings,

Anyone has an idea what did Volvo do to remedy the defective ETM in subsequent years, 2005 and up? Did they revert back to a conventional/mechanical throtle or came up with an improved design? based on a limited research, I was not able to trace any complains about any of the newer S80 models. Any insight is appreciated.

The design change was made in 2002.
I believe they started using Bosch ETM units instead of Marinelli? Or whatever the name is.
Don't take this to the bank though, I have not seen a 2002 model myself. My Volvos only go to 2001.
