ETM Defect S80

Greetings,

Anyone has an idea what did Volvo do to remedy the defective ETM in subsequent years, 2005 and up? Did they revert back to a conventional/mechanical throtle or came up with an improved design? based on a limited research, I was not able to trace any complains about any of the newer S80 models. Any insight is appreciated.
