Hi,
my boyfriend's mom owns a '97 850 that has failed emissions twice due to a "not complete" result on the "non-continuous" monitor tests from the OBD. there missing data include: catalytic system, evap system, O2 sensor, and "overall readiness".
The car failed the same test a month or two ago, and the tech said that it was due to the battery being replaced recently. however, the car has been driven hundreds of miles since then, with the same incomplete test data results. i dont own a scanner, so i can only go by what the readout says. one curiousity is that the "continuous" test data i.e. misfire, fuel system, connector, and communication readings all pass as normal. the obd keeps sending back the result of "not ready" and incomplete. is there a particular weak point associated with this model/year, or perhaps the power is not routed correctly to the unit to keep its memory?? i have no clue. is anyone familiar with this problem? if so, please help!
sincerely,
carissa spatcher
