Did she get a CEL for any of the systems involved and have any repairs done recently? If so, there is a "drive cycle" associated with each OBD II code which is a certain milage/time that needs to pass after a repair and a code reset to prove the problem was actually corrected. This prevents one from simply resetting the CEL and running the car thru inspection. There is a link here somewhere that tells what the DC is for certain repairs. You can do a search or one of the other guys probably knows what it is.
