My 98 S70 just hit a deer at ~50 MPH. Hood, fenders, lights, turn signals, radiator - is what I can see. Insurance adjuster called it $5100 damage, and totaled it.
They did not offer KBB price, and the Total Loss rep said they do not recognize KBB. They use ADP Claims Services Group, and obtain a "value" from them. This value is based on the infomation in ADP's database (not specific comps). The value they report is, in my opinion, low (the insurance company is their customer). The insusrance company said if I want to challange it I need data, and it has to be from private party sales. They do not want to recognize dealer sales. I'm now looking at e-bay to gather objective sales data.
If anyone has any other suggestions for challenging the offer I received from the insurance company, please post.
