My wife loves her V70 and it's great for travel, but....
A couple of years ago she shut the tailgate with a small edge of a blanket in the opening. The tailgate jammed. I climbed in the back and attempted to remove the inside plastic door cover to get at the mechanism. No dice. Rather than destroy the cover, we took it to the dealer (it hurts too much to say how much it cost) and they fixed it.
Now, intermittently, the tailgate will refuse to open when the latch is pulled. Locking and unlocking, pushing and pulling have no effect. Driving the car for a time will usually result in a magical transformation that allows it to open normally.
On trips with frequent use of the tailgate, tender closing or slamming appear to have no effect on the random jamming.
Any experience? Any advice?
