Adjusting the striker plate makes sense. Based upon your description, moving it out a hair should be the way to go. Now that qualifying for the Spanish GP is over, I'll go out and give it a shot. Of course, with the intermittent nature of the jamming, there will be no immediate way to tell if it worked. If a month passes and no jamming - success!
