Hey all,
The check engine light on my 1999 Volvo C70 HT has come on and with it have come some interesting issues. First off, surging idle. This started after a timing belt change at an independent shop, no check engine light though. About a week later check engine light came on, no symptoms, OBD-II reader reads with "Output Speed Sensor" and two other computer related codes, of which I cannot remember offhand.
Now ABS and BRAKE lights will illuminate randomly and then speedometer dies. STC also turns off, and sometimes the car will have a loss of power off the line, almost like it is stuck in a higher gear.
I took the car to my mechanic, he replaced the vehicle speed sensor (not the one on the exhaust cam but the one on the driver's side of the engine, to no avail. The car is going to the Volvo dealer this week, but I'd like to also get the advice of the brickboard.
Anyways, already long story short, are all of these symptoms of the ABS Module going? I know that some of these are signs of that, but I hadn't heard of the loss of power or check engine light.
Thanks,
Rob Kaplan
