After sitting for several days, the 850 battery was weak and needed a jump. This happened again, so I put a newer battery in from my 240 and it has been fine for several weeks. However today it barely turned over and needed a jump again.
Trying to use the Haynes book suggestion to check the alternator: My cheap volt meter says a little under 12 volts for the battery when the car is off and just at 12 volts with the car running. No change with or without the headlights and fan on.
Should I just order the new alternator or ?
I saw on a 240 threat that you can just replace the brushes and voltage regulator without even pulling the alternator. Couldn't find any threads on this for the 850.
Suggestions please. Thanks.
