850 Auto Box problem - urgent 850

Hi, am interested in buying an 850 Wagon on ebay - listed as having a auto box problem. Seller says that "when cold you need to keep selecting through the gearbox until drive is attained". Apparently this lasts five minutes then runs as normal. Could this be a speed sensor or ECU issue? If so, simple enough to replace or suggestion of more serious auto box problems?

Appreciate any advice thanks.
