ECC Dial not working properly 850 1997

My ECC selector dial to direct air to vents (Defrost, floor, etc) is not working. The dial rotates fine, however, the air continuously stays in the face vents and will not redirect to other vents.

I am able to change temperatures fine, just cannot redirect airflow.

Does this requrie ECC replacement, or is there a simpler repair?

Thanks for any suggestions.
