CEL: 03 XC

Hi,
My wife just called to tell me that the CEL came on during her commute to work this am. She called the dealer & was told not to worry, maybe check the gas cap which she`d already done(850 experience) but CEL still on. Tomorrow she will be taking the car in to dealer.
Wondering what potential problem(s) could be. We plan to leave on holiday in a few days so hope nothing serious.
Klaus, you may be replying to this post so any ideas?
