Emergency Brake Cable replacement 850

My '96 855 Turbo is in need of new emergency cables-the emergency brakes won't release without wiggling the cable going into the rear hubs. Has anyone out there done this. I just replaced the emergency brake shoes, rotors, pads and hardware. I looked at the set-up when I did the brakes and not sure how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.
