intermittent tapping noise 850

I am experiencing an intermittent mechanical tapping noise in motor. not really the click click of a cam follower, nor is it the clack clack of a rod knock. it is more of a tink tink noise at idle only sometimes. if you increase the rpm's, it goes away immediately. it stops making the noise all together from time to time.Oil level is fine, no dummy light for pressure. Is there anything that runs off of an eccentric with a pushrod or lever in this motor, because this noise reminds me of the time I lost my fuel pump eccentric in a chevy v8 one time.Thanks, Keith
