I replaced the PCV system on mine and the sludgy,/foamy crap went away. Usually you see this build up when the weather changes over to cold and there is more evaporation buiilding up in the system.
I;ve used synthetic blend and just regular oil and both have performed about the same. If you are keeping this brick for a long time I recommend the synth blend.
