Interior lights not switching off, battery running down V70-XC70

Doors closing do not always turn off interior courtesy lights. If unnoticed, which is very easy to do in daylight, they run the battery down and disable the vehicle. If noticed, slamming the door a few times usually puts the lights out. Is this a faulty micro switch in a door lock? If so is it repairable or how should it be tackled? This is a Classic 99 model.
