The dealer quoted you a guess for 200 pounds? Sounds like many American dealers :)

You should be able to isolate the lock yourself, with a little patience. The reason that they break - plastic. If a passenger were pulling on a door handle as you used the remote to unlock the door - snap! That's all that it takes.
