I decided to remove the almost black tinting on my 98' AWD V70 that is black. With the tinting I had a few comments that it looked much like a hearse. When I get the car back the radio asks for a code. I can't imagine why tinting would affect the battery. I ask, DUH, they tell me they are making the windows go up and down the whole day to remove/reapply the tint film. I suspect the stereo was on the whole day too.

OK, no card with the correct info in the user manual. I call the dealer. They dutifully give me the code. No Sir!! it does not work. I call another dealer and after much banter I verify the code. Do the whole shpiel leave the key in pos I wait for 2 hours etc. Still, code spat out.

I am almost sure that the stereo unit was not replaced in the car becuase if it was, it would have been done under warranty. I got the history off a dealer and the radio wasn't replaced.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
