My drivers side window on my C70 convertible was "binding" about half way down. Always in the same spot and always only when going down. I pulled the drivers door panel to inspect the rollers expecting to find a broken or damaged roller/pulley (based on a great repair post on Volvospeed). The blue roller at the top near the door lock appears fine when I inspect with a small mirror. The lower white roller is easily visible and is also fine.
My questions:
Are there other items I should inspect for damage? I will put white lube on the window guide to see if this smooths the window descent. The cables appear exceptionally loose when the window is fully down. Should the cables have some tension or is this normal? Also, in the winter when the roof molding is very cold the drivers window sometimes catches and doesn't fully seat in the rubber attached to the roof. A slight tap on the window down switch allows the window to snap into place. Can I adjust the up travel about 1/16 inch less to stop this from occurring? How?
Thank you!!
