In an earlier post regarding CEL P0014 it was decided that a new cam position sensor was in order as the timing belt was changed 44000 miles ago and appeared to be ok on a visual inspection. The sensor was changed along with a fresh synthetic oil change and a new gasket under the solinoid that adjusts the valves. Please forgive my terminology as I am not a mechanic. The car seemed to be running very smooth with lots of power during a test drive. Suddenly during hard acceleration going up hill the car shuddered, white smoke came out of the exhaust and every light on the dash lit up. On inspection, the oil dip stick was pushed almost all the way out of the dip stick tube and there was oil all over the motor. Bottom line - the top end of the motor is destroyed. I assume that timing was the issue. My question is - what should I expect to get out of the vehicle in this condition? I don't have the time, knowledge or the cash to make the repairs. A junk yard offers $500 for it so far. Is anyone interested in the vehicle. Would like a Volvo person to have the vehicle. Great shape other that the motor. 142900 miles Awd model. Pittsburgh area.
