synthetic trans fluid V70-XC70 1998

I,ve been using synthetic oils for over thirty years,and cannot imagine why everone doesn,t. Anyway, I want to use it in my 1998 V70 AWD Auto Trans,and no one at the dealer or Volvo corp. will endorse it. Of course they do for the motor. Does anyone have an answer to this.
