ABS failure, and now engine temperature low 850 1996

Honourable FWD/AWD People:

ABS failed on my 1996 850 Turbo sedan. Error codes 314 & 324 suggest right rear wheel sensor failure; the dealer's shop wants to put a NEW ABS COMPUTER (LOL!!! $500, plus labor, plus taxes!!!) (I AM NOT KIDDING YOU!!) They swear that they have checked all sensors; I don't believe it, but: the failure lights are ON and OFF intermittently, more often OFF than ON... ABS engages and goes to the default mode at it's own will...

And NOW - the Engine Temperature indicator shows the engine temperature going DOWN at 40+ mph (on the highway) - and back to normal when driving in the city at 30 mph. That puzzles me a lot. Does it sound like a common electric problem?

VOLVO customers service doesn't even want to talk about it: "See your dealer!"

What should I do?

Thanks!

Ilya.
