Believe it or not they're PROBABLY right (yes) and the part is NOT cheap either. The good thing about dealers (at least where I work) is if they're wrong (let's say they guessed and guessed wrong), they'll remove the part and won't charge you like I've heard about elsewhere being that most parts departments won't let someone return electrical parts once used.
10 to 1 they'll replace your ABS ECU and your ABS will be fixed.
As for your other problem, it's totally unrelated and just co-incidental and sounds like a bad T-stat (best replaced every 70K miles btw).
