whistling sound during start up and accel. 850 94

My 94 855 turbo is whistling at start up when it is cold, goes away after about 3 seconds but returns when I push on the gas. Sounds like it is coming from passenger side engine compartment. I will be replacing my thermostat soon and while I'm in there I'd like to tackle this new problem.
