Trunk S40-V40 2000

I am no longer able to unlock the trunk with the remote trunk release. I cannot unlock the trunk with the interior lock switch either. I can hear the motor turning something, but it doesn't seem to do anything. The only way that I can get into the trunk is with the key. This is a real inconvenience. The only thing that has changed is that it is about 15 degrees. Also, I took the car in (under warranty) to have a fog lamp replaced.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Has this happend to anyone else?
