As many of you probably read my prior message, I received my updated "Market search evaluation" price from State Farm today for my '95 855T with 56,xxx miles. They came back with a value of $19,750.
My prior offer was $18,890. Several people replied to me that I was nuts for asking for more, that I should "take the $18,890 before they wake up" and realize the amount of money they offerd me.
I'm very happy with this settlement considering I purchased the car in 1/1998 for $21,500+tax. The car had 28K at that time. It's a nice bonus that I had the winter wheels/tires on the car at the time of the accident and I still have the alloys with the new Michelin SXGT tires that I was given in the class action law suit(still for sale for $800+ shipping). I also was able to keep the CD changer(still for sale) as well as the euro rails(sold), floor mats(sold), and several other miscelanious items.
I'm generally not a very lucky person but things seems to work out for me this time, both in the accident itself as well as the settlement for the car.
Thanks again for all of the advice given to me from all of you over the last 3 years. God bless and Happy Holidays to all!
