Grinding into 4th gear (850 manual trans) 850 1993

Manual transmission has started grinding going into 4th gear. I think my options are:

1) ignore it, keep driving. I assume this will only get me so far . . .
2) fix it. I suspect this option is over my head.
3) swap the transmission

Anyone have any insights on option #1 or #2?
