My 850 turbo wagon has had IPD swaybars front and back for years with their heavy duty front sway bar links. OEM strut tower brace as well as KONI FSD shocks and struts. Since before the shock/strut change I'd been going through front swaybar bushings at a rate of approx a set per year. Not a racing driver but take on ramps as the car is able. No pushing to limits. No off roading or unusual gravel etc. I do live in a cold climate where temps in winter can get to -40 and frequently to -30. Have just taken to ordering six bushings at a time. The car has 350k kms but is in great shape. (May be time for a new car but what to move to?)
All front end just inspected and in good shape other than the typical knock of worn sway bar bushings. I've looked around the net and contacted IPD. This doesn't seem to be a common problem. Any suggestions? Is there a rubber sway bar bushing that will fit a 25mm bar and the 850 turbo mounts? I realize I'll lose some of the benefit of the bigger bar with softer bushings but I wonder whether rubber will last better at -40 that the polyurethane. The stock bushings didn't need replacing like this.
Many thanks in advance,
Perry
