IPD Swaybar design change 850 1996

The new IPD Front sway bar has clamping collars to center the bar at the bushings,
instead of welded washers.
My new bar has the washers so I can disregard the letter and the set of split clamps that they sent. IPD part# SBK52
I wonder how this changes performance and or durability?
