Awhile ago, my handbrake lever went, over a short period of time, to nearly full extension when I operated the parking brake. A week ago, I had complete brake servicing done by a good shop: four new rotors, all new brake pads, calipers all removed and bead-blasted for corrosion removal, brake fluid flush, handbrake-lever adjusted for normal pull.
Now I can pull the lever up nine clicks max, using two hands, and there's no braking action at all; even on a minor slope, the car will roll.
Has anybody else had this problem? Does it sound like something that maybe a good spraying with penetrant on the cable might solve, or would this best be handled by simply replacing the entire handbrake-cable assembly?
