CD Refuses to Eat V70-XC70 1998

Looking for quick fix suggestions (if there are any) for a balky single disc CD. Stock deck refuses to accept a disc. Never experienced a single hiccup until I ejected a disc to replace with another and nada. Now when keying the ignition I hear the drive bits whirring away briefly to no avail. Perhaps when I pick up my ipd grill tomorrow, she'll forgive me and come around.
