I had the same problem that the Volvo service place fixed in under 10 minutes. They pulled the unit out and made a screw adjustment in the back of the unit. This worked for a couple of months and then the problem was back. So I took the car back to the dealer. This time they replaced it with a new SC816 sound system (at no cost to me)under Volvo warranty. Apparently this has been a trend with the CD getting screwed up so they just give you a new unit the second time around. Hope this will help you.
