OEM Rear Anti-sway Bar missing - 07 v70 FWD V70-XC70 2007

I ordered new sway bar links and rec'd fronts and rears. I went to install the rear links, and I couldn't find the old ones. For that matter, no bar either. Doesn't look there ever was one. So I found a used one and installed it today. It makes a big difference. Why would my car not have had a rear anti-sway bar installed originally?

It's a 2007 V70 FWD.
