I was able to take off the head, intake and exhaust manifold (with the help of my friend Dylan) and took the head to a machine shop today to have them figure out whats what.
The guy, after a few minutes of shop time, figured out that at least 2 of my intake valves were bent.
So alllll that work I did, for naught. But I only have myself to blame and eventually needed to replace the parts I did (distrib, rotor, plugs, wires, and others).
So moral of the story? Make sure your timing marks are aligned, or you'll get to have a fun experience like I did!
At least now I know that the rings are fine and the car looks to have a LONG life ahead of it once it's put back together.
Although I need to clean the PCV oil trap. Are those something you can clean yourself?
