All,
So I've got to share what I just purchased. Last weekend, I bought a 1998 NA V70, production date of 05/97, making it one of the earliest 70 Series cars off the line. I bought it from the original owners for $500. I know that may sound hard to believe, but I did purchase it for that amount. In my opinion, the owners practically gave that car away to me. It is 601 Classic Red and is a stripper model (i.e. manual a/c, no sunroof, no power seats), not even having the Cold Weather Package, as it was purchased new at a Volvo dealer in Miami. In fact its only options are the automatic gearbox and a rear-facing 3rd-row.
The only thing wrong with the car is the following - it's got a small oil leak, which my Volvo specialist says has resulted from failure of the front cam seal (near distributor). Other than that, it runs really well for having only 113,000 miles (yes really, 113k). Maintained well. Is said cam seal easy to fix? It looks kinda major but I'm glad it wasn't the rear main seal.
