Radiator replace but also coolant brand change 850 1997

My brickboard genius buds will know what to do.
I have a leak in the plastic side part of my radiator that has 251K miles on it. I have all the materials needed, have watched multiple videos for guidance, and will be replacing all hoses too. Oh, non turbo, got o ring and clip kit for trans lines, all new hose clamps...
Thing is, I have always used Volvo coolant mixed 50/50, but this time have opted for Zerex G-05 mostly out of convenience.
My question is in the normal draining procedure, and radiator removal, will enough of the old stuff be removed? or do I need to mess with the engine block plug for full drain (would rather not). Do I need to flush with a hose? (would rather not)Have read that mixing the brands is not great. And I bought the new coolant bc I'm not sure all old (which is not that old) can or should be saved. I have fair confidence that after fairly recent timing belt and water pump change, that things are pretty clean in there, but it may have been stupid to not have gotten the gal of Volvo coolant -IDK. That's about it. Thanks so much!!
