I replaced the rear engine mounts a week ago on 96 850 Turbo and noticed that once the front and rear mounts were installed the upper torque mount hole was not aligned with the bracket slot. I have seen somewhere that someone just ground the slot more towards the firewall but that seems strange to have to do that. I just took a large screw driver to pry against the bracket to position the hole so it would align. Since I have a urethane bushing there I am preloading it more than normal and feel I may be having a little more vibration than what I should be.
I used a Hutchinson front mount and Corteco rear mount ( heard these were OE )so either the front is a little tall and will settle a little over time or the rear is a little shorter. One tip I found to help install the rear was to cut off the threaded stud about 1/4" which allowed it to be tapped into position much easier. There is plenty of stud to do this. Just make sure you chamfer the tip good to help start the nut. I actually didn't put the nut back on yet as a swivel socket would be a much better tool to do this (turbo in the way) and I don't have one.
