Intermittent vibrations, help! 850 1994

Hey all, this is my first post so I hope you can help me out. Just recently, within the past week or so, I've been having a strange problem with my car. The problem is that it the steering wheel vibrates and shakes a lot, and then everything's fine.

It's really rough, almost like if I had a flat tire and was driving on it, that sort of feeling. As a matter of fact that's what I initially thought it was, but after getting out and checking, all was well. The problem goes away after only about 4 or 5 minutes. It starts out as a slight vibration, then gets worse, then goes away.

This only started happening last week, and it doesn't happen every day. Sometimes it happens when I first start driving, other times when I've been driving for a while, out of nowhere. It first happened last Friday, then again Saturday and very briefly Sunday evening after I'd been out a while. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday all passsed without incident. Last night it happened again, coming home, but again only for a brief time and then it was fine.

What could be causing this? It really worries me because obviously something must be wrong with it. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary prior to it starting last week, so I'm pretty confused. Any thoughts?
