Hello,

I have a 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo with a whine coming from the front
left side low. It's sort of a low deep noise only when the car is
rolling. I'm an old car guy mainly ( 60's ), and I would think
it was a wheel bearing. I took it all apart and the hub bearing
seemed tight. The axle shaft ( CV joint ) looked and felt a little
wore. I decided to replace it thinking it must be a lose joint.
Welp, it wasn't. Same noise.
My car has 82K miles..... could someone tell me when hub bearings
usually go out ?
Could it appear to be tight, but maybe just be dried out internally
( since they are sealed ) ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, for all the people that helped me with my egg smell
coming from the exhaust, THANKS ! I orderd two new oxygen sensors ( $ 109 each )
from thepartsbin.com, and I'm having a Cat convertor put on tommorrow
by a muffler shop ( $ 150 ). I'm also going to do my timing belt just for
kicks ( I've still yet to do it ) ($33).
Other then the $ 93 I just wasted on a CV-joint, everything appears
to be working out. Anyone know of a good place to buy the hub assemblies ?
thepartsbin has them for $ 143.00 ( good deal ? )
