Center console removal/SIPS deactivation 850 1996

Previous owner had spilled something nasty thru the parking brake lever hole, I need to remove the center console to clean it out. I don't have a shop manual, but it looks like two torx bits under the console storage access cover, and two near the front, under the radio and just behind the OBD-II connector cover/coin holder. Then I think there's two more, inside the OBD-II cover area, near some electrical connectors. If I disconnect the two wiring harness connectors there, will that prevent unwanted SIPS activation? The ignitors are right underneath this console area and I don't want to set them off, though I would guess it would take some serious jarring to activate the Side Impact sensors. Anyone know how to remove the entire center console (console between the front seats)? I figured out I need to remove the little cover plate for the parking brake lever, to be able to clear the handle upon console removal. Anything else? Car is a wagon, with heated front seats, though I doubt that makes a difference.
