Just something I've wondered about. I had considered a 960 before buying my 855t. The only reason I didn't go the 960 route is their horrific reputation for engine reliability.
Simple quesiton, isn't the 960's inline six essentially the same as the 850's I5? What I mean is, aren't they're a "modular" engine? Siimilar or identical specs/parts for pistons and rods but of course one more cylinder? The same basic design of a 4-valve DOHC, hydraulic lifter, etc?
Why is the 960's rep so much worse than the 850's?
