newbie to DIY - what do I need? 850

I'm starting to think about doing my own work on '96 854t & '94 945.

I only have generic tools, nothing car-specific.

I'll probably start with oil change, brakes, etc.

Do I need a carjack? two? drive-up ramp good enough for oil change?

What do you recommend as a starter tool-set & setup, other than a big bank account?
